Sayan Bhattacharya, “An HIV Memorial Otherwise: The Many Registers of Care”.
The judging panel agreed that this is a fascinating and challenging piece of scholarship. Sayan draws on a multidisciplinary range of work to develop an absorbing and heartfelt line of argument about care – a very apposite theme for the moment. The paper is timely because it cuts through scholarship on gender and sexuality as well as pressing debates on the labour and politics of care.
